EAGLE - IN GOD WE TRUST
The U.S, in an effort to end the deadly war with Japan,
had planned a complete invasion of the Japanese Empire.
It was determined that possibly millions of lives would
be lost in the bloody conflict. In an effort to save
lives the U.S. decided to use our Atomic Bomb, which
outcome was completely unknown.

FAT MAN BOMB HITS NAGASAKI
Without further delay, on August 9, 1945, the
city of Nagasaki, Japan, was destroyed when B-29
Bockscar dropped the atomic bomb FAT Man. With
still no sign of surrender from Japan, the U.S.
was set to continue the destruction. Finally realizing
they had no other choice the Japanese unconditionally
surrendered to the U.S. The Japanese Delegation
arrived on the USS Missouri to sign the surrender
agreement, thus ending a bloody war. The War was
over! |
The FAT MAN atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki virtually
wiping out the complete city. The death toll from both
bombings are affected by many factors, number one being
politics. Victims died months or even years from Radiation
exposure, and there was pressure to both minimize and
to exaggerate the death toll. It was estimated that
as many as 140,000 died in Hiroshima, and 74,000 in
Nagasaki. Both figures fluctuate wildly depending on
who has compiled them, and why.

KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL (Wikipedia)
On Sunday, June 25th, 1950, North Korean infantry divisions
led by Russian T-34 tanks exploded across the 38th Parallel
taking the lightly armed Republic Of Korea troops by
surprise. It quickly became apparent that the limited
resistance could be pushed out of the Pusan Perimeter
into the ocean. The United States after WW11 had sent
most of its military equipment to the junk yard, and
found itself not only light on equipment but also troops.
General Douglas McArthur took command. The U.S. faced
communist forces backed up by China and Russia. The
U.S. desperately rushed troops and equipment to South
Korea and soon were holding their own. General MacArthur
wanted to drive to the Yalu, but President Truman expressed
his concern it could intimidate the Chinese and Russians.
The final blow came when thousands of Chinese of Chinese
troops poured across the border. MacArthur considered
using numerous atomic bombs, which met with Truman's
disapproval. Truman informed him that we did not want
to start WW111, and promptly relieved him of his command.
Like an old soldier, he just faded away. The war ended
where it started, proving nothing. It was the wrong
war, in the wrong place , at the wrong time.
From June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953, 36,913 Americans
died.
